Nursing Superintendent: The primary responsibility of a nursing superintendent is to manage the nursing staff and any other employees who assist the nursing staff.
The nursing superintendent is expected to regularly check the work of the nursing staff to verify that all policies and procedures are being followed as per hospital policy.
In charge of policies of the nursing services of the concern unit (hospital).
Implement hospital policies and rules for better health services to the patients with Management approval.
Review the census and daily reports of hospital and report to the higher authority accordingly.
Take Daily hospital rounds to ensure the quality of patient care services are met.
Responsible for making nursing audit and take necessary action accordingly.
Supervise various stocks of wards for keeping the stock position up to- date with the help of other in chargers & staff.
participate actively in condemnation of articles of the hospital.
Prepare duty rota for staff and make sure adequate staff are present.
Formulate goals and objectives and participate in formation of policies of the nursing services of the concern hospital.
Plan for placement of nursing staff including In-charges and staff nurse, in different department as required, their rotation plan, and maintain a satisfactory schedule.
Train the staff in all the required speciality and analysis the effectiveness of training and submit the report to the management, the training should be continuous for all staff for better result in patient care.
Responsible to ensure the show cause notice to the nurses who dont follow the hospital protocol, unauthorized absent and long absent and disobey the authority.
Ensure all records, registers such as, leave record, attendance register, explanation letter file, grievance file of nursing services, report of serious patients, census book (daily, monthly & yearly) etc.
Plan and propose the manpower requirement for your concern unit and prepare the budget proposal for the nursing services department and present to the Management for approval.
Handle and investigate the problem as asked by higher authority
Responsible to the . for planning organization and development of nursing services in the hospital in consultation with Medical Director/Center Head.
Responsible for implementing hospital/centre policies amongst various nursing units

Ensure and train the staff to issue clean linen to the patients.
Ensure you visit the nurses hostel periodically for smooth running the hostel.
