job purpose:

the mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing machinery, vehicles, and equipment to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations at the site or facility. the role involves performing regular inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring all maintenance work meets safety and operational standards.

key responsibilities:

�� perform routine maintenance and repair of all mechanical equipment, vehicles, and tools.

�� inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical faults in engines, pumps, compressors, generators, and other machinery.

�� ensure timely servicing and preventive maintenance schedules are followed.

�� replace or repair defective parts using proper tools and techniques.

�� maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records.

�� assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical systems and equipment.

�� ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely in compliance with company standards.

�� report major mechanical issues immediately to the maintenance supervisor or engineer.

�� maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and lubricants.

�� adhere to safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (ppe) at all times.

�� support emergency repair works and breakdown maintenance as required.

educational qualification:

�� iti / diploma in mechanical engineering or equivalent trade certification.

�� minimum 2-5 years of experience as a mechanic in construction, plant, or industrial maintenance environment.
