to carry out allocated tasks and duties, in particular general building services
maintenance.
• to ensure heating plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively operated,
making adjustments as deemed necessary.
• to undertake full servicing of boilers over the summer shutdown period.
• provide 1st line maintenance of fixtures and fittings, examples being the
tightening of window hinges, maintenance of door handles, replacement of
door frames, lock changing, the resetting of overhead up/over doors, baggage
system daily and weekly checks and adjustments, etc.
• carry out remedial action after storm damage, ie boarding up of broken
windows, temporary fencing repairs, etc.
• be fully conversant and competent in the use of power tools to undertake
fitting, plumbing and joinery tasks that may from time to time be required.
• the unblocking of sinks, taps, toilets and waste pipes, and adjustment and rewashering of taps.
• to ensure all gulleys and drains are kept free from debris.
• to undertake regular roofing inspections, and report any defects to the
facilities supervisor.
• perform scheduled maintenance servicing on all building systems and fixtures
as allocated by the facilities supervisor.
• to liase with tenants and others as required.
• as may be required, to plan and carry out tasks and programmes that from
time to time may be allocated to you, and are commensurate with your
knowledge base.
• to be conversant with health & safety requirements and to carry out duties as
required under current legislation.
• to be aware and conversant with gpa local rules, policies and legislation as
laid down in airport manual, hr pgs handbook and emergency orders.
