• all lab technicians shall perform duties across divisions as per the documented testing processes in the sops
• they all shall perform duty in accordance to good lab practices and align with nabl work flow protocols.
• they shall follow the basic lab safety measures at all times during the working hours
• they shall perform phlebotomy duty.
• they shall perform all routine analysis, enter the values in appropriate registers and the system and get it verified by the senior technicians before releasing the reports.
• in case of any glitch during test performance, they shall inform to senior technicians / section heads to resolve the same
• they shall verify any abnormal test reports with senior staff before relaying the report to doctors or nurses and before entering the abnormal/ critical values in the system, they shall verify with the person who had performed the analysis
• they shall not relay any reports to any patients over phone to maintain the confidentiality of reports.
• after releasing the reports they shall get it verified by the senior technicians before dispatch
• they shall adhere to the stipulated duty roster and be punctual about duty timings. in case of emergency duty offs or leave, shall inform the lab coordinator and/or lab head well in advance.
• they shall take active part in departmental meetings and educational activities as part of nabl and be aware of the necessary components of quality management system.
• all are requested to maintain professional conduct and refrain from any unethical activity that would compromise the quality of work and reputation of the lab
• shall perform daily maintenance of equipment and login of temperatures for heating and cooling elements in the lab
• shall receive the samples and acknowledge the receipt in the laboratory
