manoj ornaments is a family-run flagship jewellery retail store in vile parle with a strong local reputation for quality gemstones and jewellery. as we expand our footprint and also prepare for a stronger online presence (shopify store for gemstones & related products), we are seeking a dynamic recruiter to join our team and support our talent acquisition efforts.
job purpose
the recruiter will handle the full recruitment lifecycle for manoj ornaments sourcing, screening, selecting and onboarding candidates across store staff, retail sales, store operations, online sales support, and back-office roles. the person will ensure the right talent is brought in to support the retail and online growth.
key responsibilities
understand staffing needs by working with store management, operations, online sales lead, and hr to identify open roles, job specifications and candidate profiles.
create and post job advertisements on relevant job portals, social media, local networks and referrals.
source candidates proactively (via job boards, walk-ins, referrals, databases) and build a candidate pipeline for current and future hiring.
screen resumes/applications, conduct preliminary phone or face-to-face interviews to assess fit (skills, experience, attitude, cultural fit) and shortlist for store/offline roles.
coordinate interviews with store leadership or hiring managers, schedule, communicate with candidates, follow up and keep process moving smoothly.
facilitate offer process, joinings and basic onboarding support (documentation, orientation) for new hires.
maintain candidate database/records and track recruitment metrics (time to hire, source of hire, shortlist ratio etc).
recommend improvements in recruitment process (advertising channels, outreach, referral programs) to enable faster and better hiring.
ensure compliance with company policies and local labour laws/industry regulations related to hiring.
qualifications & skills
0-2 years of relevant experience in retail/hospitality/human resources/recruitment.
good communication and interpersonal skills (must be comfortable talking with candidates, store staff and managers).
good organisation, time-management, multi-tasking ability (since you will manage multiple roles and deadlines).
experience or comfort with job posting platforms, basic ms office (excel/word) and candidate tracking.
proactive, energetic, result-oriented, with a passion for retail and recruitment.
ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, with flexibility (occasional early/late hours may be needed to interview candidates or visit stores).
