Job Title: Head Chef (South Indian Cuisine Specialist)

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Head Chef with strong expertise in South Indian cuisine particularly breakfast items (like dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, etc.) who can lead our kitchen, maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and manage the entire culinary operation effectively. The ideal candidate must be hands-on, creative, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring high quality of food preparation and presentation.
Prepare and oversee the preparation of South Indian cuisine, especially breakfast menu items, using traditional techniques and ingredients.
Develop, refine, and update menus that are flavorful, consistent, and profitable.
Supervise, train, and guide kitchen staff; delegate tasks and monitor cooking stations to ensure consistency.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness protocols at every stage of kitchen operations.
Monitor inventory, order supplies, control food costs, and minimize wastage.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
Conduct regular quality checks on dishes before service to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
Work closely with management to improve kitchen efficiency, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.
Requirements / Skills
Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or Senior Sous Chef with strong culinary skills.
Demonstrated expertise in South Indian cuisine including breakfast dishes like dosa, idli, vada, etc.
Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness standards.
Strong leadership and team management skills; able to train kitchen staff and build a cohesive kitchen team.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and consistency in food quality.
Good communication skills in English and/or local language (preferred).
Culinary degree / diploma or equivalent professional training is a plus.
