job summary

ground staff are responsible for ensuring smooth airport operations, delivering excellent customer service, and supporting passengers throughout their travel experience. they handle check-in, boarding, baggage, safety procedures, and coordination between various airport departments.

key responsibilities

1. customer service

assist passengers at check-in counters and help with boarding formalities.

provide information regarding flight schedules, delays, gates, and luggage policies.

handle special assistance requests (senior citizens, unaccompanied minors, disabled passengers).

resolve passenger queries, concerns, and complaints professionally.

2. ticketing & reservations

manage bookings, flight changes, and cancellations.

process payments, issue boarding passes, and verify travel documents.

ensure accuracy of passenger information and ticketing procedures.

3. baggage handling

assist with baggage drop, checking weight, and tagging.

coordinate with baggage operations team for loading/unloading luggage.

handle lost, delayed, or damaged baggage reports.

4. airport operations

coordinate with flight dispatch, ramp staff, security, and cabin crew.

ensure boarding gates are managed efficiently.

announce boarding calls and maintain orderly passenger flow.

monitor aircraft turnaround timelines.

5. safety & compliance

follow all aviation and airport safety regulations.

verify passports, ids, and travel documents as per security guidelines.

assist during emergency situations and ensure passenger safety protocols are followed.

ability to work under pressure and in shifts

computer proficiency (dcs, ticketing systems preferred)

eligibility & qualifications
