2. Breakdown Troubleshooting & Repair

Line-Side Emergency Support: Provide rapid response to the shop floor (., automated welding or CNC lines) when a fixture causes line stoppages, part misalignment, or structural defects.

Root Cause Analysis: Analyze recurring fixture failures or component wear-out rates. Implement permanent modifications to improve fixture durability.

3. Fixture Modifications & Tool Room Support

Design Modifications: Read engineering drawings and blueprints (including complex GD&T parameters). Coordinate with the design team to implement minor changes or engineering changes (ECNs) on existing fixtures.

Machining Coordination: Work closely with Tool Room machinists to fabricate replacement pins, blocks, or details using VMC, milling, grinding, or EDM machines.

Welding Spatter Control: For welding fixtures, implement preventative measures (like anti-spatter coatings or specialized guards) to protect locator surfaces and sensors from continuous heavy spatter buildup.

4. Quality & Documentation

History Logs: Maintain meticulous digital or physical logs of fixture maintenance history, calibration charts, and wear-analysis reports.

MSA & CMM Coordination: Coordinate with the Quality team to verify fixture repeatability through Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) reports.
