2 Job Title: Senior Fire Protection Engineer
3 Office Location: Pune India.
4 Job Type: Full time permanent position.
5 Working Hours: All of our clients are in Europe and this will require all staff to be flexible in relation to starting later and finishing later to best match our clines time zones. Whilst your will agree your start and finish times with your line manager in general, we try to arrange our work from 10.00/11.00am until 9.00/10.00pm. Whilst we will make efforts to accommodate all employees it needs to be understood that our clients are generally 4.5 to 5.5 Hrs behind local time and you will be required to align your hours to match clients local time as best as possible.

7 Job description: The role of Senior Fire Protection Engineer will work within the Management Engineering Team where they will be required to provide ongoing support to Operations as well as develop and manage various work scopes. You will assist in the project management and design of our Mechanical projects you will be responsible for the timely delivery of our agreed deliverables and to ensure a very high level of quality is maintained.
8 Key Roles/Tasks/Responsibilities of the Senior Fire Fighting Engineer
8.1 Lead projects from concept stage to completion
8.2 Liaise with our clients
8.3 As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer you will lead the Mechanical Services design for a range of projects
8.4 Review the design and specification of Mechanical services for various types of buildings and sectors.
8.5 Review and production of detailed Schematics
8.6 Develop the Mechanical design standards within the organisation
8.7 Mentoring of junior engineering staff
8.8 The Senior Fire Protection Engineer may be tasked with Providing fully detailed tender packages in line with our clients instructions.
8.9 Develop and agree project scope with client
8.10 Produce budgets and reports for project monitoring.
8.11 Preparation of design drawings covering all aspects of mechanical elements.
8.12 Liaise and co-ordinate with members of the clients team.
8.13 Creation of installed drawings.
8.14 Attend technical / project meetings via conference calls.
8.15 Assist with the preparation of technical documentation for issue of tenders and construction.
8.16 Prepare schematics for Mechanical services such as Fire Sprinkler Protection, Foam enhanced Fire Protection, Gas Protection, Firewater Mist Protection, Insert Gas Protection & Special Hazard Fire Protection
8.17 Carry out pipe sizing.
8.18 Ensuring all latest building and Fire protection design standards and regulations are adhered to.
8.19 Management of Project Schedule.
8.20 Monitoring of all costs associated with your projects.
8.21 Close out of all project items, and review any lessons learned.
9 Necessary Requirement:
9.1 Good written English and to be proficient at communication in English. Previous similar English work environment an advantage.
9.2 The Senior Mechanical Engineer will ideally possess a 3rd level qualification in Fire Protection, Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering. (Degree in Mechanical Engineering).
9.3 Experience in working on UK, Irish or European projects.
9.4 The Senior Mechanical Engineer will possess 8+ years experience in the construction industry of which 5+ years will have ideally been spent in a Design role.
9.5 Some experience of working on a construction sites will be advantageous however not mandatory
9.6 Experience with Hydraulic calculation software is preferred
9.7 Good knowledge of NFPA Standards and Building Codes
9.8 Proficient in Microsoft Office, Autocad and Revit MEP design software such as Auto Sprinkler or similar softwares with a minimum of five years experience modeling these systems, (Ability to use REVIT fluently is essential.
9.9 Ability to extract BOQs and fabrication drawings from Revit.
9.10 Attention to detail.
9.11 Experience managing and mentoring a team of engineers
9.12 Experience coordinating/interfacing with other disciplines within the organisation
9.13 Experience in working on large commercial fire protection systems
9.14 Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
9.15 Position requires thorough knowledge of Mechanical & Fire Protection design and engineering techniques
9.16 Knowledge of CIBSE, BS, IS and EN Standards an distinct advantage.
9.17 Experience in working as part of a team
9.18 Very good proactive communicator
9.19 Be capable of taking the lead on projects with minimal input from management team.
