pre-installation site surveys:

conduct detailed site visits to assess existing electrical infrastructure, power availability, site conditions, and potential challenges for new electrical installations.

gather precise measurements, identify optimal routing for cables and conduits, and assess requirements for switchgear, transformers, lighting, and other electrical components.

evaluate site accessibility, logistical considerations, and potential safety hazards related to electrical work.

prepare detailed survey reports, including photographic evidence, sketches, and recommendations for optimal electrical design and layout.

inspection and quality assurance:

perform regular inspections of ongoing electrical installation work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

verify the correct installation of wiring, conduits, cables, panels, distribution boards, earthing systems, lighting fixtures, and other electrical equipment.

conduct visual checks, continuity tests, insulation resistance tests, earth resistance tests, and other relevant electrical tests using specialized equipment.

identify and document any deviations, defects, or non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.

documentation and reporting:

prepare comprehensive and accurate survey reports, inspection checklists, defect lists, and progress reports.

maintain detailed records of all measurements, observations, test results, and correspondence related to electrical surveys and inspections.

assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and documentation.

present findings and recommendations to project managers, clients, and relevant stakeholders.

compliance and safety:

ensure all electrical works comply with national and local electrical codes, safety regulations (., osha standards), and industry best practices.

promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site, identifying and mitigating electrical hazards.

keep abreast of changes in electrical standards, regulations, and technologies.

collaboration and coordination:

liaise effectively with electrical engineers, project managers, contractors, clients, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.

provide technical advice and guidance on electrical installation methods, materials, and potential issues.

participate in site meetings and discussions related to electrical aspects of projects.

post-installation / operational surveys (for specific roles):

conduct surveys for existing electrical systems to assess their condition, efficiency, compliance, and identify areas for maintenance, upgrades, or fault diagnosis.

perform thermal imaging surveys to identify hot spots and potential electrical failures.
