A CNC Programmer (Siemens) job involves developing, writing, and optimizing G-code programs for Siemens controllers (like 840D) for complex parts, using CAD/CAM software (., NX), troubleshooting issues on the shop floor, and collaborating with engineers to ensure quality, efficiency, and seamless integration of automated machining processes for 2, 3, 4, and 5-axis machines.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development: Create and modify CNC programs for milling, turning, and mill-turn centers, often for complex components like turbine parts.

Toolpath Generation: Apply knowledge of geometry, toolpath strategies, and post-processing for various axes.

Machine Setup & Operation: Program, set up, and troubleshoot machines, including proving out programs and adjusting settings for precision.

Optimization: Improve programs for efficiency, quality, cost, and cycle time reduction.

Shop Floor Support: Provide hands-on assistance to machinists, resolve non-conformances, and support process improvements.

Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and SOPs.

Collaboration: Work with design, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure manufacturability and resolve issues.

Software/Standards: Implement and maintain standards (like Ford FAST) and update software.
