about the role

we are seeking a skilled cnc machine operator to join our bearing manufacturing team. the ideal candidate will operate, set up, and maintain cnc machines used for machining bearing rings, races, cages, and related components. this role requires a strong focus on precision, surface finish, and adherence to strict tolerance standards essential in bearing production.

key responsibilities

machining & machine operation

set up and operate cnc machines such as cnc turning centers, grinding machines (id/od), milling machines, or machining centers used for bearing component production

load raw materials (bearing steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, etc.) and ensure correct tooling and fixtures are installed

adjust machine parameters and offsets to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements

monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments to avoid defects and minimize downtime

quality & precision control

read and interpret bearing component drawings, engineering specifications, and tolerance charts

perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, surface finish testers, calipers, and dial indicators

ensure all components meet required tolerances (micron-level precision) and surface finish standards (ra, rz) commonly used in bearing manufacturing

record inspection results and maintain production and quality documentation

process & safety

maintain cleanliness of machines and workstations, following 5s and safety guidelines

identify worn tools, poor surface finish, chatter, or deviations and communicate with supervisors or maintenance

follow iso/ts standards and quality procedures related to bearing manufacturing

support continuous improvement, scrap reduction, and process optimization initiatives

skills & qualifications

high school diploma or technical education in machining or mechanical engineering (preferred)

13 years of experience in cnc machining (bearing manufacturing or precision machining preferred)

strong understanding of tolerances, fits, and machining of hardened materials

ability to read technical drawings, gd&t symbols, and machining instructions

hands-on experience with measurement instruments and tools for micro-precision work

basic knowledge of cnc programming and g-code adjustments is a plus

strong attention to detail, quality mindset, and problem-solvingabilities
