Job Summary
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring new clients and expanding existing accounts within the recruitment and staffing domain. The role focuses on identifying business opportunities, building strong client relationships, understanding hiring needs, and offering tailored recruitment solutions including permanent staffing, contract staffing, RPO, and executive search.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities for recruitment and staffing services
Generate leads through cold calling, networking, LinkedIn outreach, and referrals
Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and achieve monthly/quarterly revenue targets
Conduct client meetings, presentations, and proposal discussions
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and service agreements
Prepare and manage proposals, contracts, and SLAs
Client Relationship Management
Develop long-term relationships with HR Heads, Talent Acquisition leaders, and business stakeholders
Act as the primary point of contact for clients post onboarding
Understand client hiring needs, company culture, and workforce planning goals
Ensure high client satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery
Recruitment Coordination
Work closely with recruitment teams to ensure timely delivery of hiring requirements
Translate client requirements into actionable recruitment briefs
Monitor recruitment performance metrics such as fill rate and turnaround time
Ensure service quality and compliance with agreed SLAs
Market Intelligence & Strategy
Research industry trends, talent availability, and competitor offerings
Identify new industries, geographies, and service lines for business expansion
Provide market feedback to leadership for strategic planning
Support pricing strategies and margin optimization
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, and deals in CRM systems
Prepare sales forecasts, performance reports, and revenue updates
Track KPIs including closures, revenue, client retention, and conversion ratios
Required Skills & Competencies

Strong B2B sales and negotiation skills
Proven ability to close deals in recruitment or staffing services
Client acquisition and account management expertise
Recruitment & HR Knowledge
Understanding of recruitment lifecycle and staffing models
Knowledge of hiring trends and talent market dynamics
Basic understanding of labor laws and compliance

Technical & Tools
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, etc.)

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, Marketing, or related field
MBA or equivalent qualification preferred
Experience
3–8 years of experience in business development or sales
Minimum 2+ years in recruitment, staffing, or HR consulting industry
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
