Airport Duty Manager - Job Description

1. Supervise and coordinate daily airport operations to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient functioning of passenger services, ground handling, baggage, check-in, boarding, and other operational activities.

2. Lead and monitor airport staff during assigned shifts, allocate duties, manage manpower requirements, and ensure that team members follow company policies, airport procedures, and service standards.

3. Coordinate with airlines, ground-handling agencies, security teams, airport authorities, and other departments to maintain efficient flight operations and minimize delays or operational disruptions.

4. Monitor passenger movement and service areas, identify operational issues, and take appropriate action to resolve problems quickly while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

5. Handle escalated passenger complaints, operational emergencies, flight disruptions, and other critical situations professionally. Communicate with senior management and relevant departments whenever necessary.

6. Ensure compliance with airport safety, security, emergency, and regulatory procedures. Conduct regular checks of operational areas and immediately report safety concerns, irregularities, or incidents to the concerned authority.

7. Prepare and review shift reports, operational records, incident reports, and performance updates. Monitor flight schedules, coordinate timely turnaround activities, and ensure proper communication between departments throughout the shift.

8. Support staff training and performance improvement by providing guidance, monitoring work quality, and ensuring employees understand operational procedures and customer service expectations.

9. Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders and ensure that airport operations continue smoothly during peak hours, adverse situations, flight delays, and other unexpected circumstances.
