The accountant position is a role that requires someone who is able to multitask while maintaining accuracy and organization while meeting firm deadlines. There are reconciliations, proposals, purchase orders, invoices, sales tax, freight, receiving, delivery, vendor communications and phone calls. Being able to jump from detailed spreadsheets, to phone calls, to team meetings and supporting team members all comes with the job.

You must be extremely organized, a great communicator, and a great team player and supporter.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

create profitability reports for all projects on a monthly basis

file monthly sales tax reports and other tax payments

reconcile all bank accounts, credit card payments and bank deposits

prepare weekly financial reports and status reports on projects in process

manage designer time reports and help them to meet project time requirements

reconcile all costs against estimates and invoices

Work with trade vendors to get pricing for items we are proposing to clients

Place orders with trade vendors + expedite all orders Write + process specifications, proposals, and purchase orders

Review and pay invoices, acting as accounts payable & receivable agent

Order samples from vendors. Pick up samples from local vendors for things like tile, flooring, wallpaper, etc

Create client proposals invoices

Obtain freight quotes and reconcile freight estimates against actual cost

Innovate processes to help us be more efficient

Order office products and supplies and maintain office standards for phones, systems, internet, and all day-to-day requirements

Negotiate discounts and work to save money on overhead expenses

Find substitutions for products when selected items are out of stock
