Primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of one or more of our Internet-facing services. Build and own standard engineering practises of auto-scale, release engineering, HA in all engineering components. Build, setup and own new development tools and infrastructure utilizing knowledge in continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD), Cloud technologies, Container Orchestration and Security. Build, test and own end-to-end CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that systems are safe against security threats. Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting. Build and maintain highly available production systems. Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible Use open source technologies and tools to accomplish specific use cases encountered within the project. Co-ordinate with external partners and AWS in the event of provisioning, outages or maintenance. Be aware of current CVEs, potential attack vectors, and vulnerabilities, and apply patches as soon as possible. Handle incident responses, troubleshooting and fixes for various products/services. Work closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with scale, operability, and performance in mind. Participate in a 24x7 on call roster for production issue escalations.

He ensures the optimal application of engineering resources in order to meet product development and consumer requirements and ensures the implementation of agile processes that support site/software development processes.The Head of Engineering plays a leading role in the recruiting activities of the engineering department in order to ensure consistency in departmental efficiency.
