Preparation and Quality ControlMaterial Preparation: Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, beveling, or cutting metal surfaces to ensure a proper joint and fusion.Inspection: Visually inspect completed welds for defects such as porosity, undercut, and slag inclusions, and perform necessary repairs or re-welding to meet quality specifications.Testing: Assist in performing tests (e.g., destructive or non-destructive testing) on welds as required by quality control standards.Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of welding machines, cables, electrodes, and work area to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.3. Safety and ComplianceSafety Adherence: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as helmets, heat-resistant gloves, and safety shoes.Code Compliance: Ensure all welding work is carried out in compliance with recognized industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX).Hazard Reporting: Immediately identify and report any hazards, equipment defects, or non-compliant work practices to the supervisor.
