Job Summary:The Cath Lab Scrub Nurse provides direct sterile assistance during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role supports safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care by maintaining strict aseptic technique, assisting physicians during procedures, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary cath lab team.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and maintain a sterile field for all cath lab proceduresScrub in and assist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac proceduresAnticipate procedural needs and provide appropriate instruments and devicesHandle catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents, sheaths, and related equipmentEnsure adherence to infection control and sterile technique standardsAssist with patient preparation, positioning, and sterile drapingPrepare medications and contrast agents per physician order and policyMonitor and document supplies, implants, and equipment usedCollaborate with physicians, circulating nurses, and technologistsRespond effectively during emergency situations such as STEMI or cardiac arrestAssist with specimen handling and labeling as requiredPerform post-procedure duties including room turnover and restockingEnsure radiation safety compliance and proper use of protective equipmentMaintain accurate and timely procedural documentationQualifications:ANM, GNM, GDA or nursing related educationMNC registration requiredCath Lab or critical care experience preferredExperience as scrub nurse
