Job SummaryThe Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring that building materials (such as cement, concrete, aggregates, blocks, tiles, steel, asphalt, or related products) meet required quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with production and site teams to maintain consistent product quality. Key Responsibilities1. Inspect raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.2. Conduct laboratory and field tests (e.g., compressive strength, gradation, moisture, density, durability).3. Monitor production processes and identify quality issues or deviations.4. Prepare and maintain quality control reports, test results, and inspection records.5. Ensure compliance with local and international standards (ASTM, BS, EN, IS, ISO, etc.).6. Coordinate with production, procurement, and site teams to resolve quality problems.7. Implement corrective and preventive actions for non-conforming materials.7. Calibrate and maintain testing equipment and laboratory tools.8. Support audits, certifications, and client inspections.9. Ensure safety and proper handling of materials during testing and inspection. Requirements & Qualifications1. Bachelors / Diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.2. 25 years of experience in building materials, construction, or manufacturing industry.3. Strong knowledge of material testing procedures and quality standards.4. Experience working with laboratory and field testing equipment.5. Familiarity with QA/QC documentation and reporting.6. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.7. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Preferred Skills1. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.2. Experience with concrete, cement, aggregates, or asphalt testing.3. Basic understanding of production processes in building material plants.4. Good communication and coordination skills. Work Environment1. Manufacturing plants, laboratories, and construction sites.2. May require site visits and outdoor work.3. Compliance with safety and PPE requirement.
