1. Ensure working of OT equipment like anesthesia machine, Heart-lung machine and ventilator equipment2. Maintenance of operation theatre records3. Conduct regular physical verification of all the specialty wise OT equipment 4. Ensure that a proper and regular supply of oxygen and suction is maintained all the time5. Responsible for fumigation of OTs and their documentation6. Ensure working of centralized oxygen piping7. Maintenance of OT temperature and humidity as per the protocols8. Scavenging system for removal of anaesthetic gases9. To verify the functioning of the anaesthesia machine and breathing system10. Checking and confirming all instruments and medicines are in stock and loaded on the trolley for the surgery11. Assists in the patient transfer or shifting from stretcher to the table and also sometimes to and fro from OT to hospital room12. Handling the C-ARM Machines during the surgery13. Assisting the surgeon during the surgical procedure14. Patient monitoring during pre-operative and Post-operative phase15. Assisting the anaesthesiologist in providing drugs, IV fluids, blood transfusion, and preparing drugs.

Overall supervision of the OPD activities. Staffing of the OPD and deputing the staff to other areas when required. Monitoring the up keeping of the consultation rooms, supervising the completion of checklists. Accountable for the equipment and medications used in the OPD Providing the necessary facility required for effective patient care. Check and keep the instruments ready Check the checklist in each room and sign on the same Send the instruments after cleaning for autoclaving as required. Keep the bed with clean linen. See that the patients are attended promptly. Check the stock of medicine. Check oxygen, suction and other equipment on the floor if any. Record TPR and BP of the OPD patients Assist the doctor/consultant in examining the patient and other procedures. Help in shifting of the patients. To keep sufficient stock of sterile dressings like gauze piece, pads, and dressing packs etc. See to the comfort of the patient. Maintain the OPD records. Remind the patient for his /her next visit to the consultant. To co-ordinate and work for the smooth functioning of the hospital Promptly attend to emergency cases as and when the patient arrives.

Evaluate and monitor the patients progress. Administer medications by routes of intravenous injection, intramuscular injection, gastric tubes, sublingual, transdermal, subcutaneous, and by mouth (PO). Prepared to deliver intensive care in case of health emergencies, like sudden cardiac arrest or road accident etc. Monitors a patient's vital signs, including oxygen levels, respiratory rate, blood pressure, temperature and pulse rate. Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patients medical condition. Deliver regular updates to doctors, patients, and their family members. Begin treatment and monitor doses. If necessary, respond to a medical emergency and alert the appropriate doctors. Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in the ICU unit. Complete all necessary paperwork before transferring a patient. Maintain patient records. Create and implement effective care plans.

Ensure preparation of the material and equipment in the OT, receive patients and take them from the preparation room to the OT, making sure they are ready for surgery Assist the surgeon and anesthetist during the operation, anticipating their needs in order to facilitate their job; with the nurse anesthetist, monitor the vital parameters of the patient Organize patient transportation from the OT to the recovery room and carry-out and/or supervise all the postoperative activities to prepare the OT for the next scheduled operation or emergency Implement the hygiene, sterilization, asepsis and disinfection protocols and procedures at all times, before, during and after operations, to ensure the safety conditions of patients and staff Supervise and train the nurse aides and cleaners while in the OT, following MSF protocols Control all equipment and material stock used in the OT to ensure efficient and rational use of material resources Contribute to monthly reports according to guidelines (statistical reports, etc.
