- Monitor and provide medical care to critically ill patients in the ICU: As an ICU Medical Officer, your primary responsibility is to closely monitor patients in the Intensive Care Unit and provide immediate medical care as needed. This includes managing ventilators, administering medications, and responding to emergencies.- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team: You will work closely with other healthcare professionals such as nurses, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists to ensure coordinated and effective care for ICU patients. Communication and teamwork are essential in this role.- Perform medical procedures in the ICU: You will be expected to perform a range of medical procedures in the ICU, including intubation, central line placements, and arterial line insertions. Proficiency in critical care procedures is essential for this role.- Maintain accurate medical records: Documenting patient assessments, treatments, and progress is a crucial part of the job. Accurate record-keeping ensures continuity of care and effective communication among healthcare providers.Required skills and expectations:- MD/Medicine Doctor degree: A valid MD degree in Medicine is required for this role to ensure that you have the medical knowledge and expertise necessary to care for critically ill patients.- Experience in OT, Intensivist, Anaesthesiology, Critical Care, Anaesthesia, or Anaesthetist roles: Prior experience in these areas is preferred as it demonstrates your familiarity with critical care practices and procedures.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills: The ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals is essential in this role. It is important to be able to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others.
