Key ResponsibilitiesComponent Assembly & Fitting: File, grind, drill, and fit metal parts accurately to match precise clearance tolerances for machinery assemblies, sub-assemblies, and structures.Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols, and engineering sketches to execute accurate physical dimensions.Marking & Measuring: Lay out reference points and dimensions on raw metal sheets or blocks using marking blocks, scribers, vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges before cutting or machining.Machining & Tool Operations: Safely operate standard workshop equipment such as bench drills, power saws, grinding machines, hand-tapping tools, and basic lathe operations to modify parts.Structural Fabrication: Assist in structural welding, gas cutting, or riveting to join metal sections, plates, or pipe frameworks based on structural layouts.Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance: Assist senior maintenance engineers in dismantling faulty machines, replacing worn-out bearings, bushes, or gears, and reassembling units smoothly.Safety & Housekeeping (5S): Maintain a clean and safe work bench, follow Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) protocols during repair operations, and strictly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
