The MEP Design and Planning Engineer is responsible for the integrated design, coordination, and development of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects. This role focuses on delivering code-compliant, efficient, and sustainable MEP designs using tools like HAP and AutoCAD, while ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.Key Responsibilities:1. MEP System Design and Coordination:Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, consultants, and clients to understand project goals and MEP system requirements.Develop integrated design solutions for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.Perform detailed calculations for load, pressure drop, water demand, and power supply to determine appropriate system sizing.Plan and allocate space for plant rooms, risers, and services routes in coordination with other disciplines.Ensure optimal equipment selection and proper routing of MEP services for efficient and cost-effective design.Coordinate across disciplines to resolve clashes and ensure smooth integration of systems.2. Technical Documentation and Drawing Preparation:Generate detailed BOQs, and technical specifications for MEP systems.Maintain accurate documentation of design data, revisions, and approvals.3. Code Compliance and Industry Standards:Ensure that all MEP designs are compliant with relevant local, national, and international codes (e.g., NBC, IEC, ASHRAE, IS codes) etc.Stay updated with evolving regulations and standards across MEP disciplines.4. Project Planning and Support:Assist in project planning, including scheduling of MEP design deliverables in coordination with the overall project timeline.Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs, and participate in site coordination meetings if required.Monitor progress of design packages to meet deadlines and quality expectations.Qualifications:Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in MEP design and planning.Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.Familiarity with MEP codes and standards (e.g., ISHRAE, IS codes, NBC, NFPA).Strong coordination and interdisciplinary communication skills.Ability to handle multiple projects and deliver accurate designs within project timelines.

Battery Energy Storage Systems Design

A degree BE/ME in electrical engineering from a recognized university. Candidate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the areas of Renewable Energy Systems like Solar PV, Wind Energy and Battery Energy Storage Systems. Out of which minimum of 2 years should be of working on the design, simulation, and commissioning of the utility scale BESS (Battery Energy Storage System). Experience with microgrid and hybrid energy system simulation tools (Homer, Homer Grid, Fractal OR Plexos) and power system simulation tools (PSSE, Dig-Silent Power-Factory, ETAP) would be preferred. Clear understanding of the different parameters for the design, selection, and sizing of the batteries as well as leveraging the parameters to arrive at the most optimum sizes of the batteries. Should have a good understanding of Battery Energy Storage System chemistry selection, design, performance modelling, lifetime estimation simulations of batteries, degradation and augmentation schedules. Experience in the design of battery system sizing using simulation tools like MATLAB or equivalent software. Knowledge of different applications of battery systems and dispatch optimization for different applications. Preparation of single line diagrams and layout for the battery energy storage system and coordination with the electrical, civil and PV design teams for complete packages for installation. Basic understanding of the overall integration of BMS, EMS and SCADA systems would be an added advantage. Prepare/ review technical specifications for BESS systems and other electrical equipment, preparation of scopes of work documents and performance/ testing documents. Knowledge of energy modelling and LCOE/ LCOS (as applicable) calculation for Hybrid Renewable Energy project (especially Solar/ Wind + BESS). Investigate design factors such as function, durability, performance, efficiency, and contractual requirements.
