Key ResponsibilitiesPrescription Verification & Dispensing: Carefully review and interpret physician prescriptions to ensure correct dosages, detect potential drug-drug interactions, and prevent medical errors before compounding or dispensing medications.Patient Counseling: Advise patients on how to take their medications safely, explaining proper dosages, potential side effects, storage conditions, and food-drug contraindications.Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor pharmacy stock levels, manage procurement, track expiry dates, and ensure proper storage conditions (such as specific temperature maintenance for cold-chain medications like insulin).Statutory & Legal Compliance: Maintain meticulous registers for scheduled drugs, narcotics, and controlled substances in strict accordance with local drug regulations and healthcare laws.Billing & Insurance Processing: Efficiently manage the pharmacy point-of-sale (POS) system, process cash/digital billing, and handle health insurance claims or corporate healthcare network approvals.Healthcare Collaboration: Coordinate closely with doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals to clarify prescription details or recommend therapeutic alternatives when necessary.Hygiene & Safety Standards: Ensure the pharmacy premises remain highly organized, sterile, clean, and in compliance with healthcare safety guidelines.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrescription Verification & Dispensing: Meticulously review physician prescriptions to verify correct drug names, accurate dosages, and valid medical registration data before dispensing medications to patients.Patient Counseling: Explain dosage schedules, storage instructions (e.g., refrigerating insulin), potential side effects, and food-drug interactions to patients to ensure therapeutic compliance.Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor stock levels of essential medicines, life-saving drugs, and wellness products; manage reorder levels to prevent stockouts while tracking and segregating near-expiry batches.Cold-Chain & Storage Compliance: Maintain and log optimal storage temperatures for temperature-sensitive items (vaccines, biologicals, and injections) using pharmaceutical refrigerators.Regulatory Documentation: Maintain legal registers for restricted drugs, narcotics, and scheduled substances (like Schedule H/H1 drugs) strictly in accordance with FDA and drug control authorities.Billing & POS Operations: Handle retail billing transactions through the pharmacy management system, update electronic medical records (EMR), and coordinate with health insurance desks for claims processing.Over-the-Counter (OTC) Guidance: Provide safe, evidence-based recommendations for over-the-counter wellness products, dietary supplements, and basic first-aid supplies.
