The QC supervisors/ inspectors for mechanical/marine Engineering section shall be able to undertake following:-(i) Overseeing of defect rectification of main engines and associated controlpanels.(ii) Inspection of Machinery components such as pistons, crankshaft, valves,piston rings, component casting etc during various stages of machinery overhaul.(iii) Trials of engineering machinery such as compressors, diesel engines,DAs, pumps, HP compressor, ACs etc as per laid down documents/drawings.(iv) Pressure testing, jigging and erection of pipes and valves.(v) Checking alignments and clearances between two mating components.(vi) Undertaking measurements of various mechanical components usingmechanical precision measuring equipments like calipers, screw gauges,micrometers dial gauges etc.(vii) Undertake Dimensional measurements at all stages of repair/manufacturing.(viii) Inspections of various NDT techniques such as Radiography, Ultrasoundetc applicable for engineering repairs and production methodology.(ix) Gauging of various components of Engineering equipment.(x) Chemical cleaning & proof testing (Pressure/ vacuum testing).(xi) Visuals Inspections during assembling / Fitments.(xii) Alignment checks of Engine and DAs.(xiii) In House / Onboard trials (Harbour Acceptance Trials) of equipment /machinery.

In Depth reading and understanding of electrical drawings and PCB circuitdiagram with details and identification of various electrical/ electronic componentsmentioned in the drawings.(b) Undertake dimensional measurements at all stages of repair/ manufacturing.(c) In depth Reading and understanding relevant normative referred in the drawingsof required for undertaking repairs to various equipment.(d) Overseeing of defect rectification of AC/DC electrical machinery and associatedcontrol switch gears.(e) Undertaking measurements of various electrical components using mechanicalprecision measuring instruments like calipers, screw gauges, micro meters dial gaugesetc.(f) Undertaking electrical measurements using electrical measuring instruments(digital/ analog) like OHM Meter, Megger, SPM Meter, Multimeter etc.(g) Assessing class of insulation of electrical machinery/ devices.(h) In depth reading and understanding electrical drawings and PCB circuit Diagramwith details and identification of various electrical/ electronic components mentioned inthe drawings.(j) Undertake Dimensional measurements at all stages of repair/ manufacturing.
