SCI has planned to conduct walk in interview on 30.08.2018 (Thursday) for recruiting Machinist Mechanical (MM), Trainee Machinist Mechanical (Tr.MM), Deck Fitter (POM) and Trainee Deck Fitter (Tr. POM) on contract basis (50 nos. of vacancies). Eligible candidates are requested to undergo through following instructions and appear for interview: Qualification : a) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from recognized polytechnic or National TradeCertificate in the trade of Machinist Mechanical/Marine Machinist Mechanical or Diesel / Motor Mechanic or Machinist or Welder issued by National Council of Training in Vocational Trade, Ministry of Labour, Government of India (NCTVT) or by the Industrial Training Institute of State Government (ITI). OR Two years Trade Apprentice certificate from marine workshop in the trade of Machinist Mechanical or Diesel / Motor Mechanic or Machinist. b) Candidate should be proficient in any of these below. i) Welding and Cutting ii) Fabrication and proficiency in fitting. iii) Lathe, drill and machine operation. iv) Ship related maintenance work. Experience : Minimum 6 months sailing experience in last 3 years from date of selection the rank ofMachinist Mechanical/ Deck fitter on vessel GRT more than 500. Age Limit : Maximum age limitis 45 years for General candidates, 48 years for OBC candidates and 50years for SC/ST candidates. Maximum age limit is 30 Yrs for Tr. Fitters (TR.MMs & Tr. POMs) for General candidates, 33 YrsOBC Candidates and 35 Yrs for SC/ST Candidates.
