St. Philomenas Hospital is a place of hope and healing for many people in Bengaluru. The hospital was started in 1937 by Dr. Sr. Veronica Pitt, a qualified gynaecologist, and a small team of religious sisters of the Society of Jesus Mary Joseph. Dr. Sr. Pitt had a mission to provide medical care in India, and she succeeded admirably. She passed away in 1975, but not before making a huge difference in the lives of countless people.
