- Stitching all types of garments: The tailor will be responsible for stitching a variety of garments such as shirts, trousers, dresses, skirts, and more. They should have a strong understanding of different sewing techniques and be able to follow patterns accurately.- Sewing: The tailor must have excellent sewing skills and be proficient in using various types of sewing machines. They should be able to repair, alter, and create garments according to customer specifications.- Taking measurements: The tailor will need to accurately take measurements of customers to ensure a perfect fit for the garments being stitched. They should be detail-oriented and precise in their measurements.- Alterations: The tailor may be required to make alterations to existing garments to ensure they fit properly. This could include hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and other adjustments as needed.- Creative problem-solving: The tailor should be able to solve problems creatively, especially when dealing with complex garment designs or customer requests. They should be able to think on their feet and come up with innovative solutions.- Communication: The tailor should have strong communication skills to interact with customers and understand their requirements.
