Job Role : Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of fire safety systems in buildings and other facilities. To ensure that buildings are safe from fire hazards, identify potential risks, and develop solutions to minimize those risks, often working with various stakeholders, including architects, construction professionals, and local authorities. Key Responsibilities:Fire Risk Assessments: Identify potential fire hazards within buildings and facilities. Design and Implementation of Fire Safety Systems: Design and install fire detection, suppression, and alarm systems. Building Design and Construction: Provide input on building design and construction to incorporate fire safety features. Prepare BOQ for supply and installations for high rise buildings projects and others. Negotiate with Vendors and sub contractors.Ensure compliance with fire safety codes and regulations. Educate building occupants about fire safety procedures and emergency evacuation plans. Investigate fire incidents to determine the cause and recommend preventative measures. Use of Computer Modelling: Employ computer models to simulate fire spread and behaviour. Skills and Qualifications:Engineering Knowledge:Strong understanding of engineering principles, fire behavior, and safety regulations. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:Ability to analyze fire hazards and develop effective solutions. Technical Skills:Proficient in using relevant software, including fire modeling software and design software. Communication Skills:Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Education:Typically requires a bachelor's degree in fire safety engineering, building services engineering, or a related field. Professional Certifications:Some certifications, such as the Professional Engineer (PE) license from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), can enhance career prospects.
