This position is responsible for validating Optics, Transceivers, Cables, Power supplies and other peripherals with Extreme Network switching products. This individual will be executing and improving test plans, run automation test scripts and develop new scripts in TCL/Python. They would need to investigate automation test failures, opening software bugs that have well characterized problem descriptions, working with developers to validate fixes, and assisting with maintenance and configuration of automation test beds. They will also be involved in new Hardware Platform qualification. They need to be able to investigate technical issues across hardware components, work with software and hardware teams and adapt to changing technologies. Eager to learn new concepts and tools is a necessary aspect. Recommended technical skills needed to perform the job: Practical understanding of Enterprise network operations Knowledge and experience in managing ethernet networks is a plus. General understanding of L2 and L3 networking protocols and debug tools General understanding of Ethernet switches Knowledge on the use Transceivers, Optics, Cables and Power over ethernet. Knowledge of Linux and Office applications Any programming or scripting language proficiency is a plus. Education Requirements: Diploma in Electronics or Computer Science graduates or B.Sc.
