Two technocrats started IPA in the year 1977. Their initiative was to support the industries which were heavily dependent on imports for weighing and automation and its subsequent support. Building the loadcell from a scratch was their first milestone which they accomplished with the support from NAL( National aeronautical Laboratories). By the 1980s , they have been able to successfully replace loadcells that were at various SAIL steel plants. The next challenge was to build electronics that could support the loadcell with interfaces to control systems and also digital displays.
