Job descriptionThe facilities manager oversees all aspects of building functions and guarantees the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff. Our ideal candidate is well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibits high multitasking and organizational abilities.Objectives of this roleEnsure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning proceduresMaintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirementsOrganize and plan building installments and refurbishmentsSupervise facilities staff and communicate with external contractors and vendorsHandle insurance contractsKeep building and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocolResponsibilitiesDelegate cleaning and maintenance responsibilities to team membersRun routine maintenance inspectionsMonitor interior and exterior areas of building for cleanliness and general conservationPrepare and implement project budgets and timeframesComply with all health and safety policies and proceduresSupport maintenance and instalment work as neededSkills and qualificationsAdvanced mechanical and plumbing skillsKnowledge of HVAC and other building systemsAbility to lift heavy objects and do other labour-intensive tasksExcellent time management and multitasking skillsBasic understanding of accounting and finance principlesGreat leadership and problem-solving skills
