Company-AEW Infra Job Title: Senior Hardware Product ManagerLocation: Gurgaon On-site Experience: 815 yearsIndustry: RTU / IIoT / SCADA Systems / Industrial Electronics for Power Automation, Water, BMS sectorRole OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Hardware Manager who can also function as a Project Head for the design and development of RTUs, IIoT Gateways, I/O cards, and industrial power supplies.The ideal candidate has hands-on hardware design experience, has taken at least one product from concept to market, and understands the complete product lifecycle from architecture and schematic design to testing, certification, manufacturing support, and launch.Key ResponsibilitiesHardware Design & DevelopmentArchitect, design, and develop:RTUs (Remote Terminal Units)IIoT GatewaysPLC / Controller-class hardwareDigital & Analog I/O cardsIndustrial power supplies (ACDC, DCDC)Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs using Altium DesignerDesign for industrial reliability, EMC, surge protection, isolation, and field robustnessComponent selection with focus on long-term availability and cost optimisationProduct Lifecycle OwnershipOwn the end-to-end hardware lifecycle:Requirements definitionDesign & reviewsPrototypingBring-up & debuggingEnvironmental, functional, and compliance testingManufacturing handoverField feedback and revisionsWork closely with firmware, software, mechanical, and testing teamsSupport pilot deployments and field trialsLead product launch readinessProject & Technical LeadershipAct as Technical Lead / Project Head for hardware developmentDefine timelines, milestones, and deliverablesCoordinate with internal teams and external vendors (PCB fabs, EMS, component suppliers)Review designs, mentor junior engineers, and enforce best practicesParticipate in customer and utility technical discussions when requiredStandards & ComplianceDesign products aligned with industrial and power-sector standards such as:IEC 60255, IEC 61000 seriesIEC 61850 / IEC 60870 (hardware perspective)Industrial surge, EMC, safety requirementsEnsure designs are suitable for substation and field deploymentRequired Skills & ExperienceMust-Have10+ years of hands-on hardware design experienceStrong experience in RTU / PLC / IIoT hardware developmentExpertise in Altium DesignerProven experience of taking at least one product to marketSolid understanding of:Microcontroller- and SoC-based designsAnalog and digital circuitsIndustrial communication interfaces (RS485, CAN, Ethernet, etc.)Power supply design and protectionExperience working with manufacturing and EMS partnersGood to HaveExposure to SCADA / power automation productsKnowledge of industrial certification processesExperience with redundant power systemsFamiliarity with field commissioning challengesAbility to translate customer requirements into robust hardware designs
