HVAC Engineer Job DescriptionPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Engineer to do overall documentation design, install, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with a strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and energy efficiency to deliver high-performance climate control solutions.Key Responsibilities System Design & PlanningPerform HVAC load calculations and equipment selection.Develop detailed system layouts, specifications, and cost estimates.Collaborate with architects and structural engineers to integrate HVAC systems into building designs. Installation & CommissioningSupervise and coordinate installation teams.Ensure systems are installed according to design and safety standards.Conduct performance testing and system calibration. Maintenance & TroubleshootingDevelop preventive maintenance schedules.Diagnose and resolve system faults and inefficiencies.Maintain documentation for service records and compliance. Energy Efficiency & ComplianceConduct energy audits and recommend sustainable solutions.Ensure all systems comply with local building codes and environmental regulations.Stay updated with emerging HVAC technologies and best practices. Reporting & DocumentationPrepare technical reports, system manuals, and client handover documents.Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs.QualificationsBachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.3 - 5 years of experience in HVAC system design and implementation.Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP).Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.Familiarity with ASHRAE standards and local building codes.Excellent communication and project coordination skills.Preferred CertificationsASHRAE CertificationLEED AccreditationHVAC Technician License (as applicable)Work EnvironmentOffice-based design work with regular site visits.May require travel to project locations.Must be comfortable working in construction environments and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
