Catvision was founded in 1985 by professionals which included graduates from the IIT & IIM. Soon Catvision started installing cable TV systems in hotels and company townships the first cable TV networks in India. The same year it became the first company to downlink and distribute foreign TV channels over these networks. These developments eventually led to the rapid spread of cable TV and satellite TV in India.
