the head of weddings' primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

strategic planning & business development:

developing and executing the annual sales and marketing strategy for the weddings department to maximize occupancy/bookings and revenue.

identifying new market trends, competitive strategies, and opportunities for product/package development.

setting and achieving departmental revenue targets and kpis.

sales & client management:

overseeing the entire sales cycle, from initial inquiry and venue/service presentation to contract negotiation and final booking.

managing relationships with high-profile clients and acting as the final escalation point for client issues.

cultivating and maintaining relationships with key wedding vendors, planners, and industry partners.

team leadership & management:

recruiting, training, mentoring, and managing the team of wedding coordinators, sales executives, and administrative staff.

conducting performance reviews and fostering a high-performance, client-focused culture.

managing staff scheduling, assignments, and workload distribution to ensure seamless service delivery.

operational excellence & finance:

overseeing all operational aspects of wedding execution, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and contractual agreements.

managing the departmental budget, controlling costs, and approving expenditure.

collaborating with f&b, banqueting, housekeeping, and finance departments to ensure cross-functional efficiency.

marketing & promotion:

working with the marketing team on digital marketing campaigns, social media content, website presence, and promotional materials specifically for the weddings sector.

representing the company at wedding fairs, trade shows, and industry events.

qualifications and skills

required qualifications:

education: a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, event management, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
