Qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) / ITI / +2 with extensive CNC machining experience

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture, assemble, and fit precision tooling, jigs, fixtures, molds, dies, and gauges according to engineering drawings and specifications.

• Operate conventional machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and drill presses.

• Set up and operate CNC machines as required for tool fabrication and modification.

• Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.

• Repair, troubleshoot, and maintain production tooling to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.

• Measure and inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM equipment.

• Perform tool adjustments and modifications to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to develop and improve tooling solutions.

• Maintain accurate records of tooling repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance activities.

• Ensure compliance with company safety standards, quality procedures, and manufacturing best practices.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce tooling costs.

Qualifications

• Diploma, ITI, Trade Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Tool & Die Making, Machining Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in tool making within a precision machining, aerospace, automotive, medical device, or manufacturing environment.

• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling materials, heat treatment, and manufacturing methods.

• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and GD&T.

• Experience operating manual machine tools; CNC machining experience is an advantage.

• Familiarity with precision measurement and inspection techniques.

• Ability to work independently and solve complex tooling problems.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CAD/CAM software.

• Knowledge of mold making, die making, and fixture design.

• Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Experience working with tight-tolerance components and high-precision manufacturing processes.
