. Safety & Housekeeping
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and cleanliness in the tool room.
Keep tools and machines clean; remove chips, dust, and waste materials regularly.
Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety guards, eye protection,
gloves, etc.
Follow all safety protocols, including those applicable to medical device manufacturing
and contamination control.
Ensure proper storage of tools and equipment to prevent damage or contamination.
6. Continuous Improvement
Monitor tool wear and performance and suggest improvements to tooling design,
grinding methods, or materials.
Participate in initiatives to reduce tool changeover time, minimize tooling waste, and
reduce defects.
Assist in cost-saving activities such as tool reconditioning and optimization of tool
selection.
7. Coordination & Support
Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure tool
availability as per production schedules.
Respond promptly to tool failures or breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
Provide inputs to the Purchasing team regarding tooling materials and consumables based
on usage and inventory trends.
Assist in training junior or new tool room staff, if required.
Qualifications & Skills
ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Machining, or a related trade.
3–4 years of relevant experience as a Tool & Cutter Grinder.
Hands-on experience with manual and CNC tool & cutter grinding machines.
Strong knowledge of cutting tool geometry, materials, and grinding techniques.
Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring instruments.
Familiarity with GMP, ISO standards, and industrial safety practices (preferred).
