we are seeking a dynamic and customer-oriented textile salesman to join our team. the role involves selling textile products such as fabrics, garments, or home textiles directly to customers or businesses. the ideal candidate should have strong product knowledge, good communication skills, and a passion for customer service.
key responsibilities:
greet customers and understand their fabric or textile requirements.
explain product features, types, quality, pricing, and usage to customers.
recommend appropriate textile products based on customer needs (., clothing, upholstery, uniforms).
maintain a clean and well-organized sales area with updated product displays.
take and process customer orders accurately and follow up on deliveries.
negotiate prices and close sales to meet daily or monthly targets.
develop and maintain relationships with regular customers and buyers.
keep records of sales, customer interactions, and inventory levels.
coordinate with the warehouse or inventory team to ensure product availability.
stay updated on new textile trends, fabrics, and materials.
requirements:
high school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree is a plus).
prior experience in textile sales or retail (1–3 years preferred).
good knowledge of fabrics, their uses, and textile terminology.
excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets.
basic math and computer skills (billing, stock entry, etc.).
physical stamina for standing and assisting customers throughout the day.
preferred skills:
local language proficiency (plus english or other regional languages).
experience in wholesale textile markets or fabric retail stores.
familiarity with billing software or pos systems.
compensation:
fixed salary plus commission or incentives.
