role overview
we are recruiting a uk property tax consultant to assist in delivering property-related tax advisory services, with a particular focus on capital allowances, expenditure analysis and other property tax reliefs. this position is ideal for someone with some existing experience in tax, audit, property finance or surveying who is ready to take on more responsibility but is not yet at senior consultant level. the role offers strong development opportunities, ongoing technical training and professional study support.
key responsibilities
project delivery & analysis
review and interpret financial, property and construction data to identify qualifying expenditure for capital allowances and other property tax incentives.
take responsibility for defined elements of project work, preparing accurate analyses, schedules and supporting documentation.
assist in reviewing work prepared by junior team members, offering guidance where appropriate.
report & documentation preparation
prepare well-structured sections of property tax and capital allowances reports with minimal supervision.
produce detailed supporting schedules for client deliverables and hmrc submissions.
maintain organised and compliant project files, ensuring all documentation is complete and audit-ready.
technical research & application
undertake research into uk property tax legislation, hmrc guidance and relevant case law.
apply technical findings to project work and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing materials.
client engagement
participate in client meetings and calls, helping gather information and provide updates.
manage elements of client communication, including information requests, clarifications and progress updates.
build effective working relationships with client contacts through clear, professional communication.
cross-team collaboration
work closely with colleagues across tax, audit, finance and property advisory teams to ensure accurate and timely information sharing.
support cross-department projects and contribute to broader advisory deliverables as required.

continue developing technical and commercial skills through training, mentoring and supported study.
contribute to internal training sessions, process improvements and team knowledge initiatives.
