Job Description:

1. Shall care for infants transitioning to extra uterine life

2. Shall provide appropriate care to patient

3. Shall consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans

4. Shall provide nutritional assessment & specialized feeding

5. Shall change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs as instructed by the physician.

6. Shall monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on infants, such as incubators and ventilators

7. Shall prepare and administer and record prescribed medications. Report adverse reactions to medications or treatments to the physician / specialist.

8. Shall monitors vital signs and initiate corrective action whenever the infant displays adverse symptomatology, communicate condition to care team

9. Shall assist treating physician during examination, treatment and procedures, which can include life-saving situations

10. Shall Instruct and educate patients family

11. Shall participate in discharge planning

12. Shall record all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms

13. Shall adhere to the hospital quality policy, NABH norms, HR norms, Health and safety policies and Infection Control standards.

14. Shall perform other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting
