A Soldering Operator joins electronic components, wires, and parts onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) or assemblies using tools like soldering irons, following technical drawings and quality standards. They perform manual or machine-assisted soldering, inspect joints for defects, and conduct repairs to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 standards
Core Responsibilities:
Soldering: Applying solder to electronic components using hand tools (iron) or automated systems (wave soldering).
Component Assembly: Positioning and securing parts on PCBs or sub-assemblies according to blueprints and work instructions.
Inspection & Quality Control: Visually examining solder joints for defects such as cold joints, bridging, or insufficient solder, frequently using magnification equipment.
Rework & Repair: Replacing defective components or repairing faulty solder joints.
Equipment Maintenance: Preparing, cleaning, and maintaining soldering stations or machinery (., tip cleaning).
Safety Adherence: Following ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) guidelines and ensuring a clean work environment.
