Job Title: Sr Design Engineer

Location: Sanand, Ahmedabad

Department: Design & Engineering

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering (preferred).

5-8 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in automotive/engineering industry.

Hands on experience in sheet metal and machined part design.

Exposure to NPD processes and customer interactions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Design & Development

Create and validate designs for sheet metal, fabrication, and machined components.

Prepare 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings with GD&T.

Ensure manufacturability and cost optimization in designs.

ware Proficiency

Work with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, AutoCAD, NX, or equivalent.

Use simulation/analysis software for stress, thermal, and motion studies.

Manage design data in PLM systems.

& Innovation

Support New Product Development projects from concept to production release.

Collaborate with quality, production, and procurement teams during proto and pilot builds.

Ensure APQP/PPAP documentation readiness.

4. Customer & Supplier Interaction

Work with customers to understand requirements and provide design solutions.

Coordinate with suppliers for feasibility and manufacturability inputs.

5. Team Collaboration

Mentor junior engineers and draftsmen.

Promote design best practices and continuous improvement.
