A security guard protects people, property, and assets by maintaining a high-visibility presence, conducting patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, and controlling access points to prevent theft, violence, or infractions. They respond to emergencies, investigate disturbances, and report suspicious activities to law enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

Patrolling & Surveillance: Conducting patrols of premises (foot or vehicle) and monitoring CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment.

Access Control: Authorizing the entry/departure of employees and visitors, checking IDs, and monitoring entrance/exit points.

Incident Response: Responding to alarms, security breaches, or emergencies (fire, medical) and taking appropriate action to secure the scene.

Reporting: Maintaining detailed, accurate, and up-to-date logs of daily activities and filing incident reports.

Enforcement: Enforcing company policies, safety protocols, and regulations, including managing visitor parking and monitoring restricted areas.

Safety Inspections: Checking locks, windows, doors, and gates to ensure they are secure and investigating signs of tampering.
