Job Summary

The Ward Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is responsible for providing continuous medical care to admitted patients, coordinating with consultants and nursing staff, and ensuring high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence within the hospital wards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Duties

- Monitor and manage admitted patients on a daily basis.

- Perform initial assessment, examination, and documentation of patients.

- Implement treatment plans as advised by consultants.

- Respond promptly to medical emergencies in the ward.

- Write progress notes, treatment orders, and discharge summaries.

2. Patient Care & Safety

- Ensure timely administration of medications and treatments.

- Monitor vital signs, investigations, and patient progress.

- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and infection control guidelines.

- Provide basic counseling to patients and relatives regarding treatment plans.

3. Coordination & Communication

- Coordinate with consultants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

- Communicate changes in patient condition to senior doctors promptly.

- Participate in ward rounds and clinical discussions.

4. Administrative Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.

- Assist in medico-legal documentation when required.

- Follow hospital policies, NABH standards, and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

- MBBS degree from a recognized medical college.

- Registration with State Medical Council / MMC.

- 0–2 years of experience in a hospital setting (Freshers may apply).

Skills & Competencies

- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.

- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Ability to work in shifts and handle emergencies calmly.

- Team-oriented with a patient-centric approach.

- Basic computer skills for EMR and documentation.
