About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Relay Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in protection systems, relay testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and switchyard operations. This role demands extensive site-based field execution across multiple locations in India, covering substations, switchyards, power plants, and industrial electrical installations.

The engineer will be responsible for end-to-end protection scheme validation, relay configuration, field troubleshooting, commissioning activities, and final handover to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of protection relays.

Configuration, testing, and logic modification of:

Schneider Easergy P3

Micom (P643)

Siemens Siprotec 5 / 7SD82 series

Line & transformer:

Differential protection

REF protection

Stability checks

In-zone & out-zone verification

Programmable logic testing & modifications on protection relays.

ATS logic, momentary parallel logic checking, troubleshooting & correction.

Upstream & downstream interlock and interconnection verification.

CT, PT, VC, VCB, ACB witness testing and analysis of abnormal readings.

VCB breaker mechanism troubleshooting and plug-pin replacement.

LTMR Tesys-T relay configuration, logic modification, and commissioning.

Motor auto-reacceleration scheme implementation and validation.

Switchgear installation verification and corrective recommendations.

Site acceptance testing (SAT), pre-commissioning, commissioning & handover.

Coordination with site engineers, OEMs, EPC contractors & utility clients.

Required Skills & Expertise

Strong knowledge of protection & control schemes.

Expertise in:

Transformer protection

Line protection

Busbar protection

Switchyard protection

In-depth experience with Schneider, Siemens & Micom relays.

Excellent field troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.

Ability to independently execute complete commissioning projects.
