key responsibilities:
quality system development: create, implement, and maintain quality management systems (qms), policies, standards, and procedures.
product inspection and testing: oversee and conduct inspections, tests, and measurements of raw materials, in-process components, and final products to ensure they meet specified standards.
data analysis and reporting: collect, analyze, and interpret quality data to identify areas for improvement, track performance, and generate reports for management and other stakeholders.
process monitoring: supervise the production process to ensure it remains consistent and reliable, identifying and addressing any deviations from quality standards.
problem-solving: investigate quality issues and customer complaints to determine root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
staff training: train production staff, inspectors, and technicians on quality standards, testing procedures, and best practices to enhance the overall quality of products.
compliance: ensure the company adheres to all legal, regulatory, and industry standards related to health, safety, and product quality.
supplier quality: work with purchasing and other departments to establish quality requirements for suppliers and monitor their compliance.
documentation: maintain accurate records of quality checks, audit findings, and other relevant quality-related documentation.
continuous improvement: drive initiatives for continuous improvement (ci), implementing lean manufacturing or six sigma practices to enhance efficiency and productivity.
