A quality controller in the knitwear or manufacturing industry is responsible for ensuring the quality of products and processes. Their duties include:
- Monitoring: Keeping track of fabric approval, inventory, and production updates.
- Inspecting: Checking for quality issues during production, including in-line and final inspections.
- Communicating: Working with the technical, development, and production teams, and escalating issues to QA and QAM.
- Following up: Ensuring that production and sampling meet delivery dates, and following up on line feeding, machine setup, and mock up approval.
- Reporting: Submitting quality reports to management
- Recommending: Suggesting adjustments to production or assembly processes.
- Measuring: Using calipers, gauges, or micrometers to measure products.
- Operating equipment: Using electronic inspection equipment and software.
- Quality controllers should also be able to read blueprints and specifications, and accept or reject finished items.
Bachelor's degree in fields like Quality Management would be added advantage.
