Assistant Engineer QA/QC

job summary:

the assistant qa/qc engineer is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the quality assurance and quality control plans and procedures for construction projects. this includes ensuring that construction works comply with the project's quality standards, specifications, codes, and client requirements.

key responsibilities:

assist in preparing and implementing qa/qc procedures, itps (inspection and test plans), and checklists.

conduct site inspections and quality checks on materials and workmanship.

monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.

coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and subcontractors on quality-related matters.

maintain proper documentation for inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports (ncrs).

support qa/qc engineer in preparing method statements and inspection reports.

participate in internal and external audits.

follow up on corrective actions and ensure timely closure of ncrs and observations.

assist in materials testing, concrete cube testing, steel inspection, and other quality tests as required.

ensure compliance with iso standards and company qa/qc policies.

maintain quality records in an organized and traceable manner.

key skills and competencies:

knowledge of qa/qc procedures, construction methods, and materials.

familiarity with construction codes such as is codes, astm, bs, aci, etc.

ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

strong attention to detail and documentation.

communication and coordination skills.

familiarity with testing procedures for concrete, steel, welding, etc.

qualifications:

bachelor’s or diploma in civil engineering or related field.

1–3 years of experience in qa/qc role in construction projects
