Colonel's Academy at Ramgarh Shishambara, Singhniwala, Shimla bypass was established on 5th May, 2006 under the directions and guidance of Col. (Retd) S. S. Chaudhari. In its first year, the school was up till class III, starting with a total 17 students and going upto 56 by the end of the academic year. Initially, up to Class 8th, the school was affiliated to Uttarakhand Board. In July 2014, the school was affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi, up to Class 10th. At present the school is affiliated to the CBSE, New Delhi up to class XII. The school is run under the aegis of Friends of Rural Development - Charitable Society a non-profit welfare organization, with the aim od imparting quality education. Emphasis here is on nurturing students to grow up into good human with a strong sense of character and high moral values. One of the guiding principles while establishing the school was to uplift the society and the school indulges in sponsorship of students and caters to the educational needs of children belonging to financially underprivileged families to equip and train them to sustain themselves and their families when they grow up.
